Jane Austen1 Jane Austen Jane Austen lived from 1775 to 1817 in England. People enjoyed how unique and different her books were from the romantic melodrama that was touristy at the time. Her stories were very realistic with ordinary characters, and she easily mingled japery with romance. Now people still enjoy her stories. They bring a certain time in history and their vogue continues to be unique and engaging. My favorite book by Jane Austen is superciliousness and bias. I love reading about how Mr. Darcy over-comes his vanity and how Elizabeth bennet over-comes her prejudice.
