Born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Bok received his undergraduate education from Stanford University and a law degree from Harvard University. Bok was compelled to publish an essay in the capital of Massachusetts Globe in 1991 entitled Protecting Freedom of thoughtfulness on the Campus as a result of students displaying various flags from their dormitory room windows. Bok was a fierce First amendment advocate who matte that the freedom of expression is protected by the first amendment. He felt it was equally important to distinguish between the appropriateness of such communications and their status under the First amendment. It was glaringly taken for granted(predicate) to Bok that because a communication is protected by the Constitution, it did not necessarily make it right or civil. Stanley Milgram was a professor at Yale and Harvard Universities and at the graduate Center, City University in New York. During his promote at Yale in 1963, he formulated an experiment to rise the compliance of people to submit to authority even though it would violate their conscience.



In 1974, he published his research in a book entitled, Obedience to Authority: An Experimental View. In the same year he wrote an essay which discussed the main reputation of his book entitled the Perils of Obedience. Milgram states that “For many people, obedience is a late ingrained behavior tendency, indeed a potent itch overriding training in ethics, sympathy and moral allot” (Milgram 883). I believe free speech should not be burdened by intrusive government regulation.
