Eye infections can occur at any time. Eye infections are contagious. Hand washing is a important in prevention of spreading infections. Some meat infections take on sty (stye), conjunctivitis, and keratitis.
A sty (stye) is a pass off on the eyelid (hordeolum). It is an inflamed rock oil gland on the edge of the eyelid. It appears as a red, swollen pimple, caused by bacteria. It is amicable to touch. Sty is an infection involving a hair follicle on the eyelid, commonly by staphylococci. It can become a chalazion an oil gland fully blocked. This can cause vision impairment. Symptoms of a sty include:
Red swollen pimple (bump)
Gritty, nettlesome sensation
Sensitivity to light (photophobia)
Tearing of eye
Tenderness of the eyelid
Treatments for sty include:
Warm compresses to eye
Drain on its own
Antibiotic creams
Lanced or fail the infection
If the sty infection is not treated it can introduce to vision impairment or even loss. It can be spread to the other eye.
A conjunctivitis is the swelling (inflammation) or infection of the membrane lining of the eyelid (conjunctiva) and covering the sclera. The causes of conjunctivitis can be due to allergies, bacteria, Chlamydia, fungi, certain diseases, chemical exposure, parasites, and soupcon lenses.



Contaminated medication and make-up can cause conjunctivitis. pinkeye can be spread to a child through the birth canal of the mother. There are different types of conjunctivitis; actinic conjunctivitis resulting from exposure to ultraviolet (actinic) radiation; subtile contagious conjunctivitis-Pinkeye caused by staphylococcus aureus. Symptoms of conjunctivitis include:
