Diaz is a man who has emigrated from Dominican Republic to New island of Jersey and is desperate to visit his home town again . He has had it rough as a child, Diaz talks about how his don abandoned him, living through poverty, and the cure for his pain he said was reading. After 20 years of being international from home in the states he is now finally competent to afford a trip back to his home country. Diaz and his novia as he describes keep up booked a flight and Diaz is rattling excited to go. Diaz has high expectations for the trip .He asks his novia also known as fille in Spanish to go with him and he is application all expenses It all starts bad when his ex. sends a letter to his novia describing in dirty terms how he had an affair with her. This causes an issue and fortuitously for him she does not end up dumping him. This is a grievous indicator of how this trip is looking ahead.
As the trip starts Diaz and his girlfriend (novia) decided to visit Dominican Republic volunteering to help American Dentist with the language there. It wasnt a very peachy site, this was a very unforesightful part of the city and pile were not given any fillers or laughing gas. They would merely numb that person mouth where the tooth was and simply yanked it out.
Diaz says that the dentist pulled so many teeth that some of these had huge muscle in their forearms and still would get tired and not be suitable pull any more teeth. HE learns from this nonplus how these poor people in these areas have to live. It can be so bad that some do not even have fresh running water. Once he and his girlfriend experience that you can already tell that the trip is not dismission as smoothly as Diaz though it would.
Diaz comes this country opinion of walking to open arms and hugs from the ingraineds of the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately that doesnt happen He desperately tries to learn the language fond and expected to be looked at as a native to the country.
