Jack Hanna is the executive Director of the capital of Ohio Ohio menagerie. Jack was hired at the menagerie in 1978. Jack Hanna changed the environment the zoo animals lived in. The animals lived in small cages, and Jack removed the animals from their cages and gave them habitats that were more realistic to their own natural habitat. Jack wanted to improve the zoo regular further; he went on many TV shows kindred David Letterman Show, and The Maury Povich Show. Jack is still on many shows today. He raised donations to help make the zoo what it is today (Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Ohio History Central, July 1, 2005).




In 1999 the Columbus Zoo changed its name to Columbus Zoo and Aquarium after partnering with the United States Fish and Wildlife manatee Rehabilitation and Recovery program and opens Manatee Coast, becoming superstar of only three institutions outside of Florida to house and rehabilitate double-u Indian manatees (Columbus Zoo and Aquarium , 2012).
The zoo had added many cutting exhibits, According to Ohio History Central, The Columbus Zoo also spread out the pachyderm facility and opened a Humboldt Penguin habitat.
