Pop art, originating in Britain in the 1950s after asceticism measures from World War II were lifted and drawing uptake from the consumerist freedom and lack of elitism, young British artists created art that reflected fond values of the time, un wish well fine art, the general public could visualize and enjoy it.

Pop art itself is an opposition to fine art, like Dadaism ,by using imagery from popular culture and trailer fun at serious, highbrow art . Mediums such as easily recognizable media sources like magazines, film, tv, and consumerist goods were used to create art, devising it mass produced, cheap to make, and expendable which reflected the mass consumerist culture that encircled the artists.The focus on the writing is the instant meaning foundation it not the piece itself.

Fine art was exceptional in ways pop art was not, the finished product was the piece and all attention was focused on the absolute crush quality one could produce. There was no idea nooky it, just the image on the canvas.



Fine art was limited to those with finer tastes and thitherfore created an elitism that degraded those who could not appreciate it.

though in America pop art came around in the later 1950s it would not become popular until the mid-sixties with artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Andy Warhol was the leading pop artist America, like near pop artists he was extremely detached from his work and was spellbound by celebrities and their loss of self through the commonality of their image. This is reflected in one of his most famous pieces, Marilyn Diptych.
